What Happened
A player living in Ukraine says BetFury reactivated their dormant 2021 account in April 2026, took a 100 USDT deposit and let them play up to a balance of 293 dollars, then cancelled the withdrawal because Ukraine had become a restricted country. The deposit was returned and 193 dollars kept. BetFury said the account was reopened only on an email check, that KYC began at withdrawal, that the player entered Uruguay as their country, and that a VPN and a Costa Rica IP address were seen.
How It Developed
- 2026-05-02Complaint opened. The player said no warning about Ukraine was ever given and that support had promised, then cut, then restored the deposit refund.
- 2026-05-28BetFury replied that a compliance review after reactivation found a restricted country, and that returning the deposit was already an exception.
- 2026-06-15The resolver asked why the account stayed usable after the review. BetFury gave a timeline: reactivated 28 April, extra verification 29 April, Uruguay entered at step one, then Ukraine declared.
- 2026-06-16The player said Uruguay was only picked to show support that Ukraine was missing from the list, and asked the casino to prove otherwise.
- 2026-06-24BetFury said the Uruguay entry, VPN indicators, the Ukrainian origin and an unfinished KYC made the block final.
- 2026-07-02The mediator found Ukrainian IPs are blocked, accepted that a VPN was used and that the Uruguay entry was the player's own choice, and rejected the complaint.
Rejected
The mediator found the player used a VPN and entered Uruguay in KYC, so BetFury's block and refund of only the deposit stood.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing recovered the 193 dollars. The mediator first questioned why a reactivated account could deposit before a full check, but in the end accepted that the casino had no way to know where the player was: reactivation was by email only, a VPN was in use, deposits were in crypto, and the player typed a wrong country into the KYC form. If your country is missing from a casino's list, stop and ask before depositing; never pick a neighbour.
