What Happened
A player from Switzerland says Bets.io held back a 1,350 XRP withdrawal won at live blackjack and then locked them out of their account. The casino accused them of a banned strategy, which it later called card counting. The player says they simply raised their bets during winning streaks. An earlier 1,150 XRP payout had also been delayed before it went through, the player says.
How It Developed
- 2025-06-18The player asked to withdraw 1,350 XRP, won without a bonus at live blackjack in the VIP section. Days later the sum was taken off the balance and access was cut.
- 2025-07-02A VIP message posted in the thread said the withdrawal would be processed as a goodwill gesture. Bets.io later said it was a copy of a 4 June warning, posted by mistake, and that the player broke the rules again after that warning.
- 2025-07-08Bets.io emailed its evidence to the mediator.
- 2025-07-14The mediator said the evidence was enough to justify blocking the account for card counting, but that, as in land-based casinos, a card counter should keep their winnings. It asked Bets.io to pay.
- 2025-07-28Bets.io stopped responding, so the complaint was closed as unresolved.
Confiscated
The mediator accepted the card-counting block but asked Bets.io to pay the 1,350 XRP. The casino stopped replying and kept it.
What Helped
The mediator backed the player on the money: even where card counting is shown, it said the winnings should be paid. But Bets.io went silent and kept the funds. The next step is the casino's licensing authority (the player named Anjouan), with the mediator's view attached.
