What Happened
A player who was living on the Isle of Man says BitStarz closed their account in September 2022, called them in breach of its restricted-territory rule and returned only their last deposit, leaving $6,850 unpaid. They say the Isle of Man was not on the restricted list at the time, that BitStarz wrongly treated it as part of the UK, and that the list was changed afterwards. The complaint was filed in 2026 and the mediator rejected it because the events were more than six months old.
How It Developed
- 2026-07-09Complaint opened. The mediator asked which country was in the player's casino profile.
- 2026-07-16The player posted old emails, a screenshot of the 2022 restricted-territory list and profile pages from sister brands showing an Isle of Man address.
- 2026-07-23The mediator first thought the player had registered as Ireland; the player corrected this, saying Ireland was only their Casino.guru profile and the casino account used Isle of Man details.
- 2026-08-02The case went to a resolver, who invited BitStarz. A representative said it would look into it and sent its material by email.
- 2026-08-05Asked when the account was closed, the player gave 23 September 2022. The mediator then rejected the complaint under Casino.guru's rule against handling events older than six months.
Rejected
The closure dated from 2022, outside Casino.guru's six-month window, so the $6,850 claim was not examined.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing: the dispute was never judged, because Casino.guru does not take complaints about events more than six months old. If a casino closes your account over a country restriction, file with a mediator at once and keep a dated copy of the terms you accepted; waiting years leaves you with no forum.
