What Happened
A player says Stake locked their account after they reported money missing from it, and sent them through account recovery. The player says they sent everything asked for, but the lock never lifted. They say Stake later told them it was keeping the $203.64 balance and closing the account. They wanted the money back and, if possible, the account.
How It Developed
- Complaint opened: the player says repeated recovery attempts led nowhere and no one at support could unlock an account with money in it.
- The player said they live in the USA and would not send ID, since none was asked for at sign-up. They asked for the money to go to a wallet they had used months before.
- The player added that the account's withdraw-only mode should let them take the money out.
- Stake said the player refused to finish account recovery and was rude to support. It said the player gave Brazil as their home during KYC but then said they were a US citizen, so it closed the account for good under its rule barring US players.
- AskGamblers rejected the complaint, finding the player uncooperative, misleading and rude to support, and barred them from its service.
Rejected
AskGamblers found the player uncooperative and misleading; Stake closed the account under its ban on US players.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing worked. The mediator found the player uncooperative and misleading, and Stake pointed to its ban on US players. Give your real country from the start, since many crypto casinos don't accept US players, and finish any recovery or ID steps the casino asks for.
