What Happened
A player says they spent over two months failing Stake's address check, so they couldn't withdraw the $444 in dispute. Their ID passed, but as an unemployed person living with their parents they had no bills in their own name. Stake turned down statements from three banks and then a bank letter the player paid 100 NOK for, which the player says was signed and stamped.
How It Developed
- Complaint opened: the player says Stake refused three bank statements and a bank letter as proof of address without a clear reason.
- The player sent more documents to the casino through the complaint.
- Stake said the loan agreement sent, dated November 2024, was too old to prove income, and a screenshot of withdrawals didn't count for level 4. For winnings from another casino, it wanted a receipt and a bank statement showing where the money came from.
- Stake asked for the complaint to be rejected but said it would look again if valid documents arrived.
- The player accused Stake of scamming them and asked for the case to be marked unresolved.
- AskGamblers rejected the complaint because the required documents weren't provided, and pointed the player to the regulator.
Rejected
AskGamblers closed the case because the documents Stake required were not provided. Stake said it would still review valid ones.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing worked, because the documents Stake wanted for level 4 never arrived. If you're asked to show where your money came from, send recent papers: a current income document, plus receipts and bank statements that trace any winnings from other casinos.
