What Happened
A player from Nigeria says Stake emailed them on 9 July 2026 with an offer: deposit within 48 hours and get a $10 bonus. The player says they deposited in time, but the $10 never showed up. Stake replied that it would only look at the bonus after a fresh identity check.
How It Developed
- Complaint opened. The player asked Stake to keep the promise in its email and add the $10.
- Stake said the player's ID check had failed. It wanted two selfies, one with each side of an ID, plus a handwritten note of the username and date.
- The player pushed back, saying the account was already verified and that this was too much personal data to hand over for $10.
- Stake said its terms let it ask for KYC papers at any time, and the bonus would wait until the check was done.
- AskGamblers asked the player to confirm the papers had been sent and warned that refusing would end in rejection. The case was then marked rejected.
Rejected
No closing reason was posted, but the player had objected to Stake's extra ID check. The $10 was not shown as paid.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing moved the case once the player objected to the extra ID check. Stake's terms let it ask for documents at any time, and the mediator expected the player to send them. Decide early whether a small bonus is worth the paperwork, because the complaint stalls without it.
