What Happened
A player says they joined Stake in February 2025, passed the first two KYC levels and put in 6,000 USDT in early March. After winning NBA bets took the balance to about 11,000 USDT, Stake reset their level 2 check and asked for three months of utility bills plus proof of payment. A few hours after sending them, the player says, the account was closed for good with no specific reason.
How It Developed
- 2025-02-09The player opened the account and passed KYC levels 1 and 2.
- In early March the player made two deposits totalling 6,000 USDT and won NBA bets, reaching about 11,000 USDT.
- Stake reset level 2 and asked for level 3 papers. Hours after the player sent them, the account was permanently closed.
- Stake told the mediator that KYC papers must be accurate and genuine, that breaking this rule means a permanent ban, and that it was keeping the funds.
- The player called this vague and asked for at least the deposits back.
- AskGamblers said Stake's evidence gave it reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, rejected the complaint and banned the player from its complaint service.
Rejected
AskGamblers cited grounds to suspect fraud after seeing Stake's evidence. Stake kept the whole balance, deposits included; the player says no clear reason was given.
What Has (and Hasn't) Helped
Nothing worked. The mediator accepted Stake's evidence about the documents, and the request for at least the 6,000 USDT in deposits back got no answer. Finish every KYC level, including proof of address, before you play big, so the checks don't start only after a win.
